New official addons for 0.972 can be found at the link below. The addons in the old post (included in the spoiler) are outdated now. The 0.972 addons can be used with older versions, just extract the files/folders from the .pak files.
I have just uploaded all major texture packs I use for SE development. They include high-resolution textures and landscape maps for Earth, Mars, Moon and Jupiter's Galilean moons. Their size is almost 10 Gb total, so I uploaded them via torrents. I will make a new section in the "Download" page of the site and attach torrent files there with detailed descriptions of each texture. Here are magnet links for the torrents. Most major torrent clients like µTorrent now support magnet links.
Installation of these addons is quite simple - just unpack the archives into your SpaceEngine/textures/planets folder, unless otherwise specified. To use the alternative Mars surface texture ("Mars Viking surface map"), you should modify the Mars script - see the readme in the archive for more information.
SpaceEngineer thank you for uploading these textures! Unfortunately, when I try to download with a torrent client (BitTorrent, uTorrent), they come up blank (0B data). Any suggestions?
All forum users, please read this! My SE mods and addons Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 GHz, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 970 3584 MB VRAM
Downloaded Earth Bump, Earth Surface and Moon Bump and currently seeding them Downloading Earth Clouds and Mars Bump but still at 0% - no seeds All other magnet links not working at the moment for me I am using Vuze bytheway.
Now I'm not one to complain so I'll just say this. THESE FILES ARE AWESOME !!!!
I can now take the superb Apollo ships from Orbiter and combine them with these superb backgrounds in space engine and create an Apollo 11 film to die for.
Course it would be even better if those Apollo spacecraft could be imported directly into orbiter
Thank you SE, for uploading and sharing. It looks even more amazing now. For example, you can now easily recognize the surface features (terrain) around the Apollo lunar landing sites of Apollo 15 and 17 very clearly with the new Moon bump map. It is so much fun to explore the surface of Earth, Moon and Mars with god-like abilities
SE, can you tell me what the original size (width x height pixel dimensions) of your Moon surface texture (not the bumpmap) was?
in this thread at the russian forum (Link) you posted some images of the SDSS catalogue in Space Engine. Can this catalogue be added to the official addons?

This was a "fake" catalog, i.e. it consists only positions of galaxies, and not their types, radii, luminosities. I made it just to get an idea of how a large-scale structure looks. However, everyone can make his own addon - grab the SDSS catalog data and convert it into SE format. It would most helpful
