Does your small texture have alpha map?

Is there a way that any of you can use a galaxy texture I make from scratch with a black background?

Yep. the sys texture always has a black background, and the png textures use some special way of transparifying it.

I'm not sure what's defined as an alpha channel here

Neither do I. I use photoshop, and I can't really understand the tutorial. I consider myself a noob overall.

But the sys texture is completely different than what I have, what I'm working on right now would be the large frontal texture

I could probably understand if I knew how to separate channels...I'll look it up and maybe I'll find something.

The thing is is that I have a galaxy right now that I want to be able to take and since I'm drawing it from scratch, take the brown out of before I even put it in, so that I can use it for the alpha channel

Alek, You can draw galaxies too? Cool. They always ask me for galaxies, now you can draw them a bunch of galaxies

Occasionally it is possible that people have something else to do than to create things for SpaceEngine. dry

This having said: biggrin
Kexitt, is there a chance that you create galaxies for my sketches here and here?
You said here:

I can unite your idies. The best variant is a ringed galaxy eith a little companion(like Arp 148)
you could bring them together.

Currently, I have created two placeholders galaxies.

The galaxies are called Maaen and Casgelu, together they are called Maaen'Casgelu.

Eeeehhh, I'm only drawing my first one, honestly--I have been able to on paper but somehow digitally it's a thousand times harder to make it look right...
I'm probably about 200 times better at drawing nebuulae but I'm not sure that SpaceEngine uses specific textures for nebulae...does it?

does it?

It does, if you tell it too though. If you don't tell it to use a specific texture, then it will just choose a random texture.

I findz some ringed galaxies!

Those galaxies are not ringed. They are just S0.

Well they look like lenticular galaxies IMO.

Edit: NGC 3115 looks more elliptical-ish, going off the list
Edit Edit: We need more textures!
