Can you try to make NGC 2438? It can be seen with the calabash nebula!

NGC 2438 in the upper left, Calabash nebula in the lower right (faint)
Here's another picture

Bambusman, I found something interesting to say the least. Goto earth and telescope in on the little ghost nebula. You will find a nebula infront of it that has stolen the calabash's model

this is because a procedural nebula is infront of the little ghost nebula, i need to move the little ghost nebula a little bit away from it.

Bambusman, I found a starless picture for NGC 2438:

Bambusman, I found a starless picture for NGC 2438:

That's not NGC 2438, that's NGC 3132 aka the Eight-Burst Nebula

OMG. Historical supernovas!!!!

  • SN 1572 (seen by Tycho and Giordano Bruno 444 years ago)
  • SN 1604 (seen by Kepler 412 years ago)
  • Cassiopea A (wasn't seen by anyone due to interstellar dust 300 years ago)

I recomend adding to this list in the far future if you want smile

  • SN 1006 (seen by native americans, the chinese and medieval egyptians 1010 years ago)
  • W49B (no documented observation 1016 years ago)
  • SN 185 (seen by the chinese and the romans 1831 years ago) <------ the problem with this is that if visible it would look bigger than the moon in the sky
  • G1.9+0.3 (no documented observation 110 years ago)
  • SN 1181 (seen by chinese and japanese 835 years ago)

This is spectacular bambusman. Thanks for the hard effort
