| Hello and greetings! I have been playing the program a lot, its very good. I noticed a few things wrong btu the main one I really noticed was the stars were way too big and not enough depth when next to each other. So, because of that, I have decided to create a NEW star Texture that you can save over the older one (star_part.png) so you can have a realistic looking universe. This version is the first and I will be making more.
I'd like to make this an official thread to this project. SpaceEngineer, i'd like to ask you a question that hopefully I can work on. I will be seeing about star motion and twinkle. Although i'm not precise on the coding, one thing I noticed is that if I was in the atmosphere, the stars could twinkle but in the current version they do not. I'd love to see this as a future addon.
Now, this is the current PNG and you guys can grab the current NEW star texture PNG attached here. To install, just simply go to your Space Engine folder < data folder < textures folder < common folder
Drop star_part.png inside the"common" folder to replace the star texture file. Please take out the original star_part.png BEFORE replacing it and save it just in case you want to go back to the original!
I will be adding more to this project, I have here a main texture that I think you guys will like. What I did was reduce the bright center so it looks more dense in the pit and flares out light from the outside.
You'll notice a nice difference straight away! Please tell me what you think, and what you'd like to see get done with this small but promising project!
Right click and save the image as, and enjoy some depth on your eyes! Sirius is AMAZING from our Sun! (WARP SPEED CREATES A PERFECT BLUR EFFECT WITH THIS TEXTURE! IT LOOKS REAL!)
(REMEMBER, STARS ARE POINTS OF LIGHT, Not big big visible spheres)
ENJOY!

| Good job bro
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

Thank you! I'm totally updating this thread with pictures right now to prove that a little tweek can create a massive 3D depth difference on this program. It's absolutely phenomenal how this texture is working! You'll love it. The stars are a LOT smaller but appear to be actual brightness and apparent size. You're welcome!

| Martek, did you play with Star Scale, Star Style and Star Overbright parameters before making this texture? (They can be found in F4 and F7 menu). You may obtain the same effects without changing textures, just adjusting the settings. Just set Star Overbright to zero first.

Greetings! Actually I played with those settings and they were good but the solar stars like the Sun would go much dimmer than it should so the texture change to the distant stars was the result What are your thoughts?

Sorry for a multi post, just saw this and thank you! I'm glad you like it! It can still be tweaked a bit but the modification looks highly impressive. I'd love to see the stars twinkle in a future update.
