Watsisname, I know about that thread. I was just saying that maybe it would be beneficial if a decision was made in a closer timeframe.

Although I did buy it and to be honest I found it quite boring

It's still in very early dev and is being updated all the time. Some of the most recent updates have started making it much more interesting and it's beginning to show hints of its potential. From what I see, it will essentially be Minecraft in space (to oversimplify a bit), with mining, crafting, exploring, building, and playing with friends. And, of course, flying your own spaceships!

Concerning SE on steam, it's possible that it could be added as a Greenlight concept page in the near future, as that won't demand much in the way of time, resources, or development to implement; it's basically just free advertising.

Exognosis, there are existing threads where posts like that would work (such as this one). And the News and Announcements section is not a good place to make a thread, it is for news and announcements regarding SE and the site, made by moderators and admins.

Apologies. Usually those threads are blocked to other users, so I took it as a sign that one could post there.

It is definitely better here. smile

I think they mixed up some terms, they confused open source with addon friendly. Still that is some good publicity.

It's always nice seeing SE get the attention that it deserves. Hopefully this will draw the attention of more people to the game(getting featured on BBC = you're probably not irrelevant).

Doesn't matter they advertised us :]

Too bad they didn't use the latest version. But still great!

I suggest sharing this landing page that I made if talking about it on the forums: http://bit.ly/spaceengine
I remember doing a presentation on astronomy for my class 2 years ago, and I made an introducory video full of gorgeous Space Engine shots. I even linked this page at the end, and people actually noted it after saying "that app is beautiful !"
