The response has been great! Maybe some of you might want to "pretend" you just found SE and post on the thread I started?

PS: Vladimir, once this reaches game status, GOG might be a great place to look into distribution. GOG was founded by CD Projekt Red who did The Witcher series. Its original focus was to ressurect old games, make them playable on modern systems and sell them DRM free. Now they are branching out into new indie and smaller development releases. GOG has an excellent community. Just a thought as you continue to create the most stunning piece of software I have ever encountered!

| I suggested my friends to try this program, but unfortunately this is a program for amateur astronomers, so the users of this forum are mostly amateur astronomers
I posted in some forums articles about SE but they banned me for spam D:

If you make multiple threads continuously on a forum about the same subject then that is spam

Salvo,
With all due respect, Space Engine is not a program meant exclusively for amateur astronomers mi fratre! People do not need to know the difference between a main sequence star and a neutron star to use SE. SE is a an experience for people that want to explore, to create internal narratives about places real and imagined, and to capture screenshots of breathtaking places they have visited. Yes I am an amateur astronomer but most of the time when I am exploring SE, I am exploring as an artist and some times just as a person who wants to revel in the wonder that we call imagination.
Namaste, Vlad

| I gave Space Engine a small mention in a presentation to the class at college, afterwards some people expressed interest, asked me a bit more about it, and said they would try it, which was pretty cool.

| That's very good. I'd love to do something similar if the opportunity ever arises.
I have at least shared S.E. with several of my friends. Usually responses are generic "That's cool/neat/pretty" but one friend took immediate interest and said it could be a great inspirational tool for her sci-fi writing.

| Actually, now that I think of it. Does Space Engine have a DeviantArt page? It would do well on publicity.

| Quote (Tim) Does Space Engine have a DeviantArt page? No, and I don't see one being made any time soon. I don't think it would make too much sense to create and maintain such a page. People don't typically go to DA to seek out info on software projects...

| Now, but like many folks do with SpaceEngine, they may stumble upon it. :P And people who click the pictures are most probably interested in nice space images.

| Quote (Tim) Now, but like many folks do with SpaceEngine, they may stumble upon it. Well, by that logic we should be establishing SE pages and profiles on literally every social networking site there is. This is clearly impractical.
Also, I'm moving this discussion to the Spread the Word thread, as it is off topic here.

| Scott Manley is (no offense to him, I think he's great!) such an SE noob. Also, I facepalmed on him not recognizing the Large Magellanic Cloud Though he did better this time, I actually made it through 11 minutes of the video before I couldn't take any more. Maybe it's because 0.97 is so good-looking
