quarior14, are you keeping in mind that the Azerothian continents are actually rather small in the game ( see here [from before the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, but still kind of relevant] for their dimensions)?

Kalimdor is roughly 11 miles north to south, and 6.5 miles wide.
Eastern Kingdoms is roughly 11 miles high and 5.2 miles wide (not counting Gilneas and Vashj'ir).

So (according to Prym's second post here) Azeroth is only about 20.5 km across. And 3.35 * 10^-6 earth masses (not earth gravities). That would make Azeroth's gravity about 1.29 times that of Earth's.

3.14% of all seafarers are PIrates.

Reflecting my hope that a suitable form of exotic matter (negative energy) can be harnessed to realise FTL travel using the Alcubierre metric...

It is highly unlikely that humanity will ever have exotic matter, but there is a small sliver of hope

Quote
The Casimir effect shows that quantum field theory allows the energy density in certain regions of space to be negative relative to the ordinary vacuum energy, and it has been shown theoretically that quantum field theory allows states where the energy can be arbitrarily negative at a given point. Many physicists such as Stephen Hawking, Kip Thorne, and others therefore argue that such effects might make it possible to stabilize a traversable wormhole. Miguel Alcubierre has suggested using the effect to obtain the negative energy density required for his Alcubierre Drive.
