Here you can ask for a new galaxy or nebula model. After your submission, I will see if it is possible to make it.

Here are the models that I've already made :

Antennae Galaxies

Download !

Replace the cataog file of NGC 4037 and NGC 4038 (Antennae Galaxies) in catalogs/galaxies/galaxies10k.sc by the new catalogs of the two galaxies.

NGC 4526

Download !

NGC 4725

Download !

IC 1623

Download !

Replace the cataog file of IC 1623-1/2 in catalogs/galaxies/galaxies10k.sc by the new catalogs of the two galaxies.

Arp 142 / NGC 2936 & NGC 2937

Download !

Replace the cataog file of NGC 2936 and NGC 2937 in catalogs/galaxies/galaxies10k.sc by the new catalogs of the two galaxies.

NGC 3314

Download !

Replace the cataog file of NGC 3314A/B in catalogs/galaxies/galaxies10k.sc by the new catalogs of the two galaxies.

Tarantula Nebula

Download !

Create a new calalog file on catalogs/nebulae called nebulae_LMC.sc where you copy the catalog data. Open config/universe.cfg and on the tag NebulaeCatalogs, add the following line : "catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_LMC.sc".

NGC 6621 and NGC 6622

Download !

Messier 27 / Dumbbell Nebula

Download !

Don't forget the catalog script, to put into catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_MilkyWay.sc.

Barnard 68

Download !

Don't forget the catalog script, to put into catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_MilkyWay.sc.

Cone Nebula

Download !

Don't forget the catalog script, to put into catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_MilkyWay.sc.

NGC 1275

Download !

Eagle Nebula Pillars

Download !

Don't forget to copy the catalogs in catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_MilkyWay.sc. There are also a catalog and a model for M16, with model grouping enabled (even if the feature seems to be not implemented), and more realistic orientation.

Trifid Nebula

Download !

Don't forget to replace the catalog script in catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_MilkyWay.sc by the new one in the archive.

Repost : 7 Brainstorm's reworked galaxies

Download !

Repost : 16 Solaris's reworked galaxies

Download !

There's a catalog file for adding some galaxies to the engine, and fixing the positions of UGC1810 and UGC1813.

12 new Solaris's tweaked galaxies

Download !

Here are some new models for 10 existing and 2 new galaxies. The models were made bu Solaris, and I tweaked the dust maps and did some minor updates on the models.

Ancient Milky Way

Download !

Here is the old Milky Way model, reuploaded for 0.971, for the nostalgic. It is used as a procedural SBb model.

M82

Download !

I decided to release this buggy M82 model, with two intersecting sprite which are flickering. I hope model grouping will be implemented soon to solve this problem. Don't forgot to paste the catalog file too, by replacing the old "M 82" instance, and adding the new "M 82 Starbursts".

IC 2184 (the cosmic "V")

Download !

Don't forgot the catalog file !

NGC 2146

Download !

General installation procedure :

- Download the archive behind the link.

- The Archives contains a folder with the textures : copy them in the textures/galaxies folder if it is a galaxy, or in textures/nebulae if it is a nebula.

- Then, add the content of the code found in the Model.txt file in models/galaxies/Models.cfg if it is a galaxy, or models/nebulae/Models.cfg if it is a nebula.

- Sometimes, you have to change a catalog file. It is explained in the model description.

- You should delete the cache folder after the install.

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

Are these particularly high-res? My system seems to chug whenever I'm near them. We're talking a drop from 30fps average to less than 4.

I don't understand your bug. The options you can try are : deleting the cache folder, or re-installing the mod.
Can you describe me how it crach more precisely ? When the crash occurs ?

O.K., I will tell you what the crash error says:

Runtime Error!

Program: E:\SpaceEngine 0.96.2_2_2\SpaceEngine.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Anyways... Great mod! I will delete the cache folder.
