Hm... Strange. I will try re-downloading.

Nope, you know... I don`t know why i`m getting this. Maybe since the two galaxies are interacting and passing though each other there dust sprites may be interacting and causing the tremendous lag-spike that I get when even zooming on them from another galaxy altogether. Who knows... I`m pretty sad now since I can`t have a decent NGC 4037/8 model. sad

Crashman1390, maybe there's a problem with your download. If it is a memory problem, you can decrease emDetailZ and emDetailR in Models.cfg. The other thing you can do is set VideoMemoryStartupDetect and VideoMemoryDynamicDetect to false in Main.cfg.

I plan to make another model, but I don't know which one. Any ideas ?

I'll try doing so, and maybe a suggestion: what about a Messier 87 model or a Tadpole galaxy, and maybe the famous "Mice" galaxies. Hope your suggestion works.

M 87 is an elliptical galaxy (the only thing that change from elliptical galaxies is this stream), and the models of elliptical galaxies in Space Engine are limited. I'll start working on Tadpole Galaxy.

Thanks! Sorry if I was stalling with the crashes and errors and stuff, I will be looking forward to your new releases.

Say... Didn't you say some time in the past that you were working on a Homunculus Nebula? How is your progress on that?

I'm still working on it when time permits. The model I've made was a stroke of luck. I need to have a better understanding of the cubemap method to work seriously on nebulae. Maybe SpaceEngineer can explain more how this feature works ?

Oh... Sorry I was talking about Centaurus A or NGC 5128. And I know about the elliptical galaxy stuff, but I think I have overcame that problem what if one can make a second galaxy that is Cen A`s dust stream from that spiral galaxy that it sucked up a couple million years ago... Maybe so. I will look and see what is Space Engines limitations are to see if this is possible.

Keep up the good work!

Sincerely... Um I shouldn't say.

New model : Tadpole galaxy !

Download

The galaxy seems to not exist in the catalog. You've got just to add it instead of replacing the existing one.

Yess ! Disk space limit has been dereached !

Why did you made stars streams of Antennae galaxies so dim? They can't be seen even with high GlowMagn, and there no sprites generated.

I made them how I see them. They are almost invisible in the pictures. If you want a model with more visible streams, I can make it.

On this image they are visible pretty clear:

You models are incorrect, because SE assumes that for spiral galaxy its disk covers entire texture. On your textures, 80% of its area is black, and something visible only at the center, where normal galaxies usually have a core. Star generator is confused by this, it generates extremely dense population of stars in that area, because it think it is a core of the galaxy. So SE currently don't support such complex models.

To avoid such cases, I think it could be good to have a parameter for spiral galaxies that change the distribution of stars for irregularized spiral galaxies. This parammeter could be the disk radius in sprite, so SE will generate less stars inside the galaxy and more stars outside the disk (in streams).
