I've found the music from Interstellar to be quite fitting. Love the track from Miller's Planet at 6:22: https://youtu.be/iBfk37Fa3H0?t=6m22s

I created this playlist for Elite: Dangerous but I listen to it while exploring SE as well. Minimal techno. A little dark and a little sexy.

Impulse - 8tracks

Except the "battle" music, it stops the soundtrack that is currently playing and starts with a very rock-ish soundtrack.
I'm not saying that I don't like it, I'm just saying it doesn't fit perfectly.

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

I like the music of Stellardrone. You can find it here. It is free to use, and I think it would be a very good addition to the current playlist. Stellardrone writes on his Facebook page: "Once again, all music by Stellardrone is absolutely free to use in any possible way."

Try it on youtube.

Honestly, I was surprised Stellardrone wasn't the first thing throne in. It's theatrical quality composition and performance and blends into the experience I feel better than anything else I've ever heard among the current selections.

I have downloaded all Stellardrone albums and converted the files into ogg-format, which I put in the music folder of SE.

Stellardrone is the best with SE.

Silly me. I downloaded them two years ago and forgot they have this option.

But for the other users of SE I hope that the following release of SE will include Stellardrone's music.

Hi guys, RockoRocks here. Haven't posted on this forum in ages.

I would now like to draw your attention to this masterfully crafted spacey-IDM-ambient-vaporwave album. It's by Ursula's Cartridges. It's caled Honeymoon Travels.

Listen to and buy the album on bandcamp: http://ursulascartridges.bandcamp.com/album/honeymoon-travels

I can't even begin to express how much I love this album and how SpaceEngine-appropriate it is. It begins with the opening G00d M0rn1ng Un1v3r5um!. This sounds like the kind of thing that should play when SpaceEngine is done launching. Tracks 2 (терпение, доктор) until 7 (銀河鉄道999) are dreamy, spacey tracks that are also extremely relaxing. ты далеко от дома is fantastic space ambient, almost as if your ship is taking a rest in orbit around a massive blue or red giant star. The closing tracks Unmapped Galaxies (ME2 'Uncharted Worlds' reference?) and ĪŇFĪŇĪŤΞ ∞ ΞMBŔĀĆΞ capture the infinite, eternalness and spaceousness of outer space almost perfectly and make perfect background ambience as well in SpaceEngine.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and give this album a chance.
