W Ursae Majoris Variables

I came across this star system (Picture 1) and it reminds me of the W Ursae Majoris Double-Stars.



W Ursae Majoris Variables are stars, that are so close together, that they connects with each other (see link).

I don't know, if they could be implemented procedurally, but I have read, that 1 percent of all F to K-class stars belongs to this group and that they are the most common variable star class. If that is true, they must be implemented for the realism.
