So I'm wondering if it would be possible to add a "human eye" mode where objects' light are limited to what is visible to the naked human eye?

Which reminded me that it frustrates me that the display settings like magnitudes and FOV reset after Space Engine is closed. I have also thought before that it would be nice to quickly skip to some magnitude / FOV combination.

If it were possible to customise such combinations, a user could set / tweak one and call it for example 'Human Eye' and skip to it with a key combo or popout list in that part of the screen. Other existing presets could be 'Blazing Cosmos' or 'Only the Brightest Get Through' and so on.

Addtionally (but not importantly), and I know I'm pushing it here, in stereoscopic modes it would be super cool to have animal vision, like a fly, a deer, some alien creature etc so you seem to explore these strange worlds from the perspective of another creature to add a sort of arty realism element. This would be awesome when (if) eventually fauna are generated as you could take a feed from a creatures vision as it wanders and live a few moments as that thing.

You can set your desired FOV in a stable way setting the variables FOV and DefaultFOV. You can do that editing the file user.cfg (config folder).

The same way, you can set the variables PlanetMagnLimit, StarMagnLimit, etc. editing the file main.cfg
