| Hi all,
I was wondering if there are any plans to implement some sort of automated synchronization between Space Engine and various objects catalogues.
I have especially exoplanets in mind, but also stars and asteroids, where the rate of discovery is higher.
Currently many of these objects are either updated with each release in hardcoded files or by "manual cropping" and posting on this forum by enthusiasts. I made a comet too :-)
They are both ok mechanisms, but it would be great if interfaces could be created with various catalogues, via their Web APIs. SE could then update its universe database on-demand or on a predefined schedule.
For example, the Open Exoplanet Catalogue is a nice source for exoplanet data. https://github.com/OpenExoplanetCatalogue/open_exoplanet_catalogue https://github.com/OpenExoplanetCatalogue http://www.openexoplanetcatalogue.com/
I have a lot of development experience with integration and Web APIs and I would volunteer to help.
Best -Codrin

| Have you checked out this thread - http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-2318-1?lGVLlE
You might want to collaborate with that guy since he's working on what you propose and probably could use some help.
