its difficult to get the high res versions of earth and all other planets. this is because the files are all split up. when downloading multiple files the download speed slows down and the eta is days not hours or minutes. the computer might go to sleep which mine has before and ruined the download. It just takes such a long time to get the files needed.

Why not have both the basic 1gig version and the all in one version? How about this, the all in one verison that includes a nice installer that allows you to pick which addons you want and even manage future addons and mods. let those who donate have this ability. I'm willing to donate to get this done.

I have just had the most trouble trying to get these addons. either my pc sleeps or the download just stops or idles? or I get to download multiple addons and its just so darn slow.

The per-file download speed is decreased, but the total download speed is the same. It makes no difference.

You should adjust your computer's power settings.

There are tens of gigabytes of files, it will take a long time no matter what.

This is probably due to high server load, there is not enough bandwidth to supply all users. Changing to a one-file addon will not affect this.

And you should use the BitTorrent downloads - they're immune to connection and power issues, and will resume seamlessly.

Currently there are no torrents for the addons, though using a standalone download manager program is extremely helpful for downloading the addons (this is what I did).

Yes, I'm a dummy. I just realised this and came back here to retract what I said.

Incidentally, I am also currently using a download manager to download the files.
