This has been discussed already, and there is a giant thread on the Russian forum as well where people have been discussing and making music for SE (mentioned above), some of which will be released with 0.97.

Could we have extracts of this music ? (I don't speak russian, and I tried to find it on the russian forum, my mission was a failure.)

Want some music of mine ? Please go here !

This thread can be used for that purpose. If necessary it can be renamed and moved.

Ok smile

I just checked on Space Engine Soundtrack on SoundCloud, and there is 68 soundtracks, I never expected a so massive partecipation, I taken some of them:

Addio al Terminal by Francesco Taskayali

Distorted Mind by JeanCast

Empty Spaces by Max Miecchi

Silence in Solar Sistem by Lokijar

Unfortunately most of them are electro-dubstep, I think Space Engine soundtracks should be more ambiental, and with a fade in the beginning and in the end, like Minecraft soundtracks...

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

(still don't know why everyone is doing this...)

Hi everyone,

I have just contacted SE team. I'm musician/composer/producer and when I found SE I thought I could be usefull here - I specialize in wide range of space soundscapes. First of all I went to music folder and I listened through all tracks, and I must say they suffer many technical issues, like very narrow soundstage or completely mono signal (seriously? mono in 2013 for a space enviroment? :)), poor quality of sounds (like from vinyl), lack of mix integrity, volume issues, too much compression, clipping (!), resonating low frequencies, and stuff. To be honest I feel like only AstroPilot knows what he is doing. Don't get me wrong - I'm amateur too, but those are things which any music producer can hear and point out.

So what I suggest is to firstly go to my SoundCloud profile and check Solar System playlist. Some of tracks are very old and have been made when I just started my journey with music, so they might be low quality, but I keep them there because I'm sentimental. ^^

Especially I recommend four of them: Pluton, Cephei, Mars and Jupiter.

If you like them you can also check rest of tracks on my profile.

All those tracks are free to use by anyone anywhere. So you can use them anytime you want. But if you want I can obviously make more tracks that will be dedicated for Space Engine only.

Tell me guys what you think. smile

Just listened through...it would be a shame if at least one of these wasn't included in SE. The two I especially like are:

Pluto- would be beautiful for ice worlds
Jupiter- this one will be excellent for planets with civilized life if it is added

Can I post the link for my track here?

If so, here it is. If you're interested. (Experimental\Ambient Score genre)
