Hi SpaceEngineer,

this might not be the right place for this post, but it's the best i found...!

Do you know about PROLAND?

It is an OpenGL research prototype made by a dev team from a french public institution for numeric science (INRIA).

It does not seem very active since mid-2012, but the result of their work is IMHO very advanced (some features are of course already there in SpaceEngine but not all of them): procedural terrain, terrain editing, great visual aspect from sea level to orbit, real-time ocean rendering, trees with shadows, dynamic cloud shadows, ...

If you don't know about it yet, you should really have a look!

The best thing about their code: it is open source.

By the way, are you planning to open the source of your graphics engine?

Proland has been mentioned in the forums from time to time, such as here.

You're right midtskogen, I should have searched this forum first.

Guess i was too excited about discovering similar features somewhere else.

Sorry...
