New Script options

I was wondering if it is possible to implement a new feature to the script commands land/landto.

As far as I can tell, there is no direct way to tell the camera where to point at when we order it to land.

If we use the track command it will always use the center of the previously selected object and that is not very helpfull most of the times, so I think it could be usefull to add an option where we can write something like this

GoTo Earth
Wait 10
LandTo 60.2 28.3 10 tracking 60 28 1

Nice idea! I had thought about how to define looking direction in the scripts, but couldn't see a good solution. Your suggestion may work!

Hello,
i was reading this thread and i would like to submit an additional suggestion;

i can't seem to find a way to modify the timing of the LandTo command; it would be interesting if this could be provided as an additional parameter (duration in seconds for instance):

LandTo 60.2 28.3 10 time 50

and maybe combining with Talyn suggestion:

LandTo 60.2 28.3 10 tracking 60 28 1 time 50

Bye

Speaking of scripting, is there any plan to add a scripting-based plug-in engine? Like incorporating python or lua into the engine, allowing users to create their own functionality or export system? That'd be awesome!

Hello, I also have been thinking how cool it would be to plan the timing of your trip. No matter how far or close the destination to input a time (example 1 minute) and have the journey "space" it out so the user can savor (and possibly save) the trip. All in all, this is THEE best software I have ever obtained in my many years of computing. It is definitely a life changing piece of software. It's endless and so thought provocative I have to tear myself away to finally go to bed. :)) THANK YOU SO MUCH! If I was rich man I would support monetarily a lot. But I'm a jazz musician! 'nuf said

I'm not sure where to post this but I am a composer Steve Giordano and jazz guitarist but always loved electronic music, atmospheric spacey music. I have composed and offered my work at Planetariums. One long time project I have is Symbiosis Syndicate - a free improvisation spontaneous composition group consisting of four musicians. The music is not jazz but texture based interactive thought provocative music that is perfect for Space Engine. I would be happy to donate this music (there is a library dating back to 1990) This music has been used for collaborations with visual artist. I have converted Symbiosis Syndicate music to .ogg format and I have it playing (random) as I explore space and would be happy to share it with the authors of this software. If anyone wants to contact me about this music email me jzguru@gmail.com . Or even suggest how I can contact the authors and have them hear some samples..
