| I seem to have a knack at breaking the game where custom items are concerned....
I'm pretty sure neutron stars aren't pitch black, or have a habitable temperature....

| It would be pitch black if its temperature was 200K
Actually nearly all of its parameters are wrong, you'll need to specify them. Its mass should be ~200x greater, its luminosity should be much much less, radius should be 500x greater, etc., at least if you want it to be realistic. At the very least you need to make sure that its big enough so that its surface lies outside of its event horizon. Also, is it part of a double or multiple system?

| I was just messing with the code, with the poor skills I have in the field. It's part of a multiple system, with a second unspecified black hole.

| Okay, I had suspected that there was a black hole there too. Can you post the script you wrote, as well as the exported script of your system?

| The script I'm posting is has different results to the one above, but it's still a double black hole when it should be a neutron star (screwing around with the magnitude a bit, if I can have a galaxy-swallowing giant star, why can't I do the same for a neutron star?).
Before you look at my excuse for a system, let me stress, greatly, that
Code Star "Dark Energy" { RA 15 22 58.3315 Dec -25 46 03.174 Dist 3500 Class "Q" AppMagn -20 Mass 200000 }
As far as I know the Mass tag didn't do anything, so I ignore it. I don't even know what value it is. This code is literally a copy-paste of an example, modified a bit, because I have no idea what I'm doing.
Also, again due to my poor poor poor knowledge, what exactly is an "exported script"?

| Quote (anonymousgamer) Also, again due to my poor poor poor knowledge, what exactly is an "exported script"? Go to your system in SE, then go to the menu bar at the top (hit Esc), go to file, then export system. It will then appear in your SE directory under cache/export.
Also, see the "How to make a Star" tutorial in the Mods and Addons section, it might be helpful.

| Holy buckets, apparent magnitude -75! :O That's about 100 trillion (that's in long scale; in short scale it's 10 quintillion) times brighter than the Sun in Earth's skies! :O Which is similar to what the Sun would look like through the ocular of a telescope with a primary mirror/lens of a hundred thousand kilometres, if my calculations are correct.

That's what I based my work (work is not the best word here) off of. Apparently, I'm not a good learner. The exported script is attached btw.

And if physics want to be correct then there shouldn't be any light, lol. Hmm. Maybe it's a new type of blacklight.
Oh, and here is something else worth noting:
A black hole distortion in a black hole distortion.... leads to messy lens flaring. (This is the tiny black hole that orbits the other giant one)
I just realized the last 10 or so posts that I posted here on the forum are about black holes. I'm developing an addiction.

| Okay, the most important thing you need to do is to create two scripts instead of one. One (the barycenter) goes in the stars catalog. Then another script, with all the star information, goes in the planet catalog. All this is described in the Star tutorial, go through it carefully, it can explain it better than I can (my mind is rather off today). The steps are broken down into single-lines at the very end of the tutorial.
