| Two months ago, I got a new computer with a Pentium D and a Radeon 5570 with 1GB of VRam. The 1st day I installed the latest drivers for my card. Obviously, SE ran totally fine on it, but only for the first week. Then it started to crash every five minutes. I open it, and I start flying around, but flying around the galaxies or simply wathing a sunrise on Uranus (that has only one texture and it hasn't got landscape), when SE has been running for 5 minutes it crashes. I have the fast landscape disabled, the LOD to -2, and I edited the config files to get a 1440x900 resolution and a "PlanetDetailTexScale" about 500 times lower than default, so I don't know what can be the reason of the crashes.
My desktop: Pentium G3260 @ 3.30GHz 8.0 GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 5570 1GB

| Try going into main.cfg and lower the value of VideoMemoryMaxPercent to 75. That solved the crashing problems for me, and makes it run much smoother than with the normal value.
I occasionally stream at http://www.twitch.tv/magistermystax. Sometimes SE, sometimes other games.

| Thanks for the suggestion apenpaap, but I tried it and it didn't work. Anyway, when I downloaded SE it worked fine, so I'm donwloading it again because I started to change things of all the files and I don't remember what I changed, so I think the best will be re-"intalling" the game.

| I finally re-installed SE and now, at least with procedural stars disabled, it runs fine.
