Do I need to put addons in that file? I did it, but the texture goes white, and the earth looks just white...

You dont need to put the addons inside the planetsTexSE.pak
Just create a folder in textures/planets name the folder earth and put the files from the addon inside the folder you created.

I'm having a problem with add-on textures and I don't seem to have permission to start a new thread. I'll post my question here and hopefully someone will see it.

I downloaded all of the pak files and installed them according to the directions. When SE starts up, it flashes through the various startup messages, and I can see that it identifies the pak files and is creating the file structures for each of the planets that I downloaded. However, when I go to any of the objects in the solar system, there is no difference in the detail compared to the original stock download. I have two identical computers side-by-side: one with the barebones initial install, one with 25+GB of textures added. If I take a look at Io or Callisto for instance, I see no difference in detail between the computer with the additional pak files and the one without. I tried increasing the LOD to 2.0, but still no difference. No error message or crashes, and SE runs smoothly otherwise. Anyone have any ideas of something I could try? I feel like I am missing a step here. I'm trying to set up 9.7.3 SE on 35 computers in my classroom but I'm stuck until I can figure out what I am doing wrong. Thanks!

EDIT: Never mind....it is working with Venus and Mars. Io and Callisto apparently don't have higher spatial resolution available. Sorry I didn't think of that earlier.
