Warp bubble effect for spaceship

I'm not sure what means of FTL you plan to do for spacecrafts but if you plan on doing a Alcubierre/Warp drive perhaps you could include an optional effect to use. Since these kinds of drives would distort the space in front and behind would it be possible to use the same kind of effect as you use on the black holes to do something like this?

Would be rather neat to see a game display how light would be distorted around the ship at FTL speeds. As I said before perhaps make it a graphics option so people can enable or disable it to their preference.

If you search the forum carefully, you will find several threads with exactly the same proposal, and my answers are there.

I think it would be cool to implement the visual effects of the Alcubierre warp drive; such a feat is presented in the paper from Müller & Weiskopf of Stuttgart that I have attached.

There is also a JAVA application: http://www.vis.uni-stuttgart.de/~muelleta/Warp/

I had posted about this too when I had joined, however its not gonna happen. Space Engineer already has plans on how ships will function. I too think it would be cool. What would be neat is if it were possible to attach the effect of a black hole to a ship, you could then make this yourself for your own use but I don't think that is possible at this time or ever will be.

It would be very cool to see though.

Couple threads with information on ships
