| Why have you disabled auto memory detection? Also, it seems you have notebook graphics, so 1996 Mb is not the size of physical VRAM, but size of VRAM plus the size of shared RAM. Enter in config your real physical VRAM size. Another thing: The new version has the RAM dumping bug fixed. Try these settings:
VideoMemorySize ??? // video card onboard memory (VRAM) in megabytes VideoMemoryMaxPercent 80 // max VRAM consumption (percents) VideoMemoryStartupDetect true // use auto detection of VRAM size on startup, otherwise use VideoMemorySize value VideoMemoryDynamicDetect true // use auto detection of available amount of VRAM in runtime
Enter your real physical VRAM size instead of ???

| Witch way do you save your location? I do this:
1) Press F6 to open locations dialog 2) Click Add key 3) Type description 4) Press Enter
Location will then be saved with no problem!

| Actually my dedicated VRAM for the Radeon 6990 is 2048MB, the seperate Intel graphic processor (for low power mode) has 256mb of shared memory. I have messed with many different settings.
I tried .95 on my radeon 5970 and everything works fine but the 6900 series gpus are not rendering correctly, I set the VRAM detect and size settings as suggested, still have the same problem. No adjustment to the config file is making any kind of difference, it will not render procedural planets correctly. It is either a driver issue or a lack of support for the card.
BTW my desktop 6970 is not working either, same problem.

| Now using the Dell/Alienware Beta upgrade drivers for M17XR3 laptops, brings Catalyst drivers up to the 11.10 reference drivers. No more graphical glitches.

| Wonderful. People, please update video drivers (and all other drivers too)! Latest drivers are the key to a safe and faster system. Especially for games!
