| You are right, this is a glitch in shadow calculation, caused by huge distance. Eclipses in binary stars is a well known effect in astronomy, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipsing_binary#Eclipsing_binaries

| Hmm, maybe it is a displacement of selection pointer, and planet is somewhere behind screen border?

| Quote (SpaceEngineer) Hmm, maybe it is a displacement of selection pointer, and planet is somewhere behind screen border? No. It is not. Maybe the texture was not generated by the program, but even the star was without texture and the whole system. I was thinking that the program sesion was bad, but i was to another star, next star system, and was ok.
I can send to you any file you need to see the cause of this problem, but i need to tell me what files.
I forgot to tell you, this star is from IC 2395 star cluster.

Yeah I have this issue as well (with all planets as far as I know). It seems the sun flares only disappear when going a bit below the horizon, - also it ignores scenery in this regard. See this picture for an example: Image
Could it be that you've turned of procedural planets? If you do that, and goto a procedural planet - this is what it will look like. Yes I know it sounds contradictory. I have been in this situation though, don't remember the context exactly.

| AFAIK it has to do nothing with the drivers. It is a program bug. It will be fixed in the upcoming release 0.95 according to SpaceEngineer .

| This is a eclipse shadow from some planet or sun that is near the main sun. It seems like a circular eclipse. Eclipse shadow calculation works badly with far away planets.
