| Quote FaceDeer ( ) I got messed up planet textures (they were a whole bunch of patchy squares and circles overlaid on each other). Delete cache folder. Did you save your old config files and copy them back to SE folder?

| No, I just extracted the contents of the 05 patch .zip into my existing Space Engine installation. I knew this was a "messy" way of doing things and might not work, which was why the next thing I did was to try a fresh install (which worked fine). Just figured it'd give it a try and see what happened.
I haven't been worrying about saving config files in my beta installation since it's all going to be trashed at some point anyway.
Edit: I resurrected the "broken" installation where I'd installed 05 on top of 04, tried deleting the cache directory, and that fixed it. An easier solution than a fresh install, then.
Edit edit: Gah. Now I see the bright red text on the 05 patch installation instructions warning to delete the cache. I blame excitement for my failure to read.

| Soo with this current patch the engine just immediately crashes after it has done its setting up. I'm not sure what's causing this but here is my log.
Note: I changed no settings.

| Found an unusually low density moon: RS 0-0-0-392-14358-6-204806-2013 10.8. It has less than a quarter of the density of water. According to this list on Wikipedia the lowest density real solar system body of comparable size is Tethys, and it's about as dense as water. This article says comets average about 0.6 density, still more than twice as much. So I suspect this might indicate a glitch in the procedural generator. A couple of the other moons of this gas giant were similarly spongy.

| SpaceEngineer, can you please add a way for us to search for planets by their axial tilt? It would make searching for Earth-like planets so much easier!

One of the sticks on my Xbox-controller also have a slight tilt which is very annoying. I found a nice gamepad mapping program called Antimicro for my Xbox-controller which I've been using for some time now and it works perfectly with SpaceEngine (and other games). Deadzones and all sorts of things can be adjusted in it.
Haha, I use X-padder, got a really good setup too. Love tweaking!
Quote SpaceEngineer ( ) Quote yaqdark () Can you create a hotkey to set velocity directly to 0
Z ?
Quote yaqdark () And/or can you create deadzones for xbox controller axes?
They are exist. Press "Calibrate" button on the controls settings window.
Z didn't work? I thought maybe it is for something else. I will try again
Quote SpaceEngineer ( ) It have a dead zone, 1000/32768. I can make it as configurable parameter, if you don't what think SE interface is already too complex
Cool, no if I can change it in a cfg. file then I don't need it on the interface Space Engineer, I LOVE you (not in a gay way). I would love to sit and have a bottle of vodka with the man who created the universe
Quote SpaceEngineer ( ) Ok, patch 05 and I going to vacations
ENJOY!!!!! Which planet are you going to?

| Why when I'm flying close to a black hole/neutron star/white dwarf my camera suddenly gets teleported millions of Gly away and when I fly to this solar system again the star isn't rendered at all? I've tried setting EnableMipmapsWarp to false in user.cfg to no effect.

| The binary stars have been doing weird things - I don't have a picture of it, but I saw a binary that had a red giant and a blue dwarf. The orbit of the two put the blue dwarf inside the red giant - Hopefully a physics mode or engine will fix this.
