Spock1108, you forgot to install the shader.

Spock1108, you need to open shaders.pak with winrar or 7zip,then put the blackhole_warp.glsl in the shaders folder which is inside the pak file.

I finally had a chance to watch the movie and have decided to come back to this project. I adjusted some of the star types to correct the colors, adjusted some of the planetary stats to be more like they are in the movie, made stars massless so they don't affect gravity in system, and am currently working on a few other tweaks. I may even get around to adding Pantagruel the Neutron star.

I may post an update soon but for now here are some screens
Miller's and Black hole

Mann's

Edmund's

Also Endurance has some higher resolution textures which will be available soon in a update Destructor1701 and I are putting together.

Thank You Doc! Your work on this add-on is much appreciated!

I have just watched the movie and really looking forward to this update smile

I am especially looking forward to beeing able to enter orbit around at least the outermost planet (is it Edmund's - can't remember now unsure ) of the gargandua, now that you have nulled the gravity of the collpased stars but it may still not be possible considering te gravity of the gargandua is pretty huge compared to the rest of the system unsure

PS> Is there any chance that you might be able to create the wormhole that is next to Saturn? smile

There is a 0% chance of this being possible.

Well, unless you mean a functional wormhole (which can be actually used for travel), it is sort of possible, I simply imported the 3d model of the Wormhole from the Interstellar app into SpaceEngine. (I did this in 0.971 but it also works with 0.972) It looks like this:

I will be inactive on this forum for the time being. Might come back eventually

It also looks exceptionally ugly as I have said many times to many people in many different conversations. By ugly I mean that it looks unnatural and doesn't blend properly with the surrounding environment.

I have no plans to do something like that. The closest thing in the engine is a black hole but unless a way to use a custom shader for one object is added I don't see it being worth the time or effort.

I have played around with the shader a bit, but none of those edits will ever be used or posted since they replace EVERY black hole including the main one in the system.

Or you can just disable the black section of the black hole, which again affects all black holes

So pretty much unless SpaceEngineer adds a way to use custom shaders for one object or actually adds wormholes I will not be adding the wormholes.

The black hole shader is also used for White Dwarf and Neutron stars. If you use Noclip and fly inside them you can clearly see the black hole.

I also made a wormhole model - and I messed with the ship warp shader to add the gravitational lensing around it.

That was a while back, I've improved the shader a little since:

Using the black hole as a "wormhole" also gives interesting results

However if you try it with ships, even using the "Noclip" cheat it doesn't work. Noclip does not affect ships, this is what happens

The ship did not pass through, instead it hit the surface of the black hole and was thrown across the system.

Sure would look neat if it worked. sad

You can teleport ships inside with time paused, but once you unpause time they will teleport back out.
