| And it works out of the box on Linux! (One crash so far - 10 minutes, but it might have nothing to do with Linux).
SE should now be multithreaded, right? But according to system load, no more than one core gets used (and /proc/cpuinfo agrees that most CPU's are idle because the clock speed is only 1600 MHz an donly one or two CPU's are 3500 MHz). It takes about 1 minute to generate 1024 stars, which doesn't seem much faster than 0.96. Am I missing something?
INITIALIZING LOADER Number of CPUs: 8 Loader threads: 7 RAM granularty: 4 kb Total RAM: 4095 Mb Available RAM: 4095 Mb Startup video memory detection disabled, value 2048 Mb from config will be used Dynamic video memory detection disabled DONE
So SE detects all cores.

| Congrats and thanks for new version!
Now, I have little point to make on download. Yandex mirror is limited to 64 kbit/s (yes, bits!) and that is painfully slow. Google Drive mirror is limited by number of downloads per day or GB per day, something like that... and currently that quota is excided. I suggest torrent distribution and I will gladly seed SE.97 constantly for even few months.
Realno...

You can sign up for a free Yandex account and remove the 64kbits/sec limitation. 32 minutes beats an 18 hour download. However, I'm not keen about signing on for yet *another* online thing. But in this case I'll make an exception.
A torrent sounds like a great alternative. Probably the best way to handle the growing userbase.

| I've put my copy here: http://voksenlia.net/spaceengine/SpaceEngine 0.97.zip
I hope that's ok. But I only have a 5 Mbps uplink and I run a few websites which also generate some traffic. So I'll probably remove the file eventually without notice. This is just as a helping hand for the desperate at the moment.
Yes, a torrent would be better.

| I, too, thought of the May Day aspect of this release. Was THE BIG DAY of celebration in the Soviet Union and now is one for all of us SpaceEngine devotees! Of course for me it means I gotta edit the in-game text all over again, tho... Ah well, we all gotta work for the things we love. Soon my copy will BRIM with references to Timeb, Zemimajor, Ztar, etc. Frostbreath, are you catchng any of this??
Oh, and UNIVERZE-sized gratitude to Mr. RomanyuK!! Let the zearch for Romanyuk's Star begin!!
