Crashing near stars

Space Engine has been working wonderfully for me, the only problem I have is that if I get too close to a star (within about 2 or 3 AU if flying past, and 1/3 of an AU if I'm slowly approaching) everything freezes and Space Engine crashes. Any suggestions?

Your VRAM size is to low - only 274 Mb. The minimum requirements is 512 Mb.
