| Quote Antza2 ( ) Also you can just add the launcher to steam as a non-steam game.
Thats been around since forever and just isn't the same thing.

| Quote DoctorOfSpace ( ) Thats been around since forever and just isn't the same thing. What difference does it make? The only thing is that it won't keep track of how many hours you spend playing it, it's still in your library. When I compare Steam games with their own launchers and update methods to non-Steam games with their own launchers and update methods, I see no difference. Steam has nothing to do with maintaining your game in either case. All it does is put it in your library and tells the world how much you used it. Otherwise, it's simply an unnecessary layer between you and your software. If the thought that the rest of the internet won't know exactly how many hours you've spent playing this game bothers you that much, well, then just blog about it.

It does, and it has fixed issues of mine before.
You're forgetting things like the steam workshop, easily inviting friends or joining other friend's games, the groups and community hubs on steam around games, the community market, and other things you simply can't have or won't work if your game isn't on tied to steam.

| Tried Elite Dangerous today. It has a somewhat steep learning curve and I've still much to figure out. So far it seems totally possible to immerse into that universe and explore. After some initial losses I'm now seeing profits.

Nope, but I play Crusader Kings II which is made by the same developer and is very similar to that one.

| There's a guy who's made some pretty nice ED videos. He crossed the entire Milky Way travelling 72,000 ly and visited 2765 systems. A pity that he doesn't expect to get back with all that data.
