| Quote steeljaw354 ( ![Link to the quoted text](http://en.spaceengine.org/button/lastpost.gif) ) the sheer number of sightings/abductions/etc is enough for me Me too. Given the sheer number not just one, but many observartions, should have offered unequivocal proof. And it hasn't happened. It's something else, undeterminable or hoaxes. Despite the extreme rise of cameras in recent decades.

| And it doesn't need to, like I and others have said before. The burden of proof is not on the skeptics, but on the ones making the claim.

| Secureteam10 is known for creating UFO hoaxes regularly, often through very obvious image manipulation, like in this particular case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW9SFJSSPfQ

| Indeed secureteam10 is fake. I watched one of his videos and then saw another video that debunked it.

Congratulations, you discovered a rocket fuel dump.
They're pretty common. You can even plan to observe them if you follow launch schedules and the mission flight plans, as the astrophotographer in the above article did.

| Quote steeljaw354 ( ![Link to the quoted text](http://en.spaceengine.org/button/lastpost.gif) ) Disprove all the other videos on youtube then.
Quote apenpaap ( ![Link to the quoted text](http://en.spaceengine.org/button/lastpost.gif) ) The burden of proof is on those who claim aliens visit us, not on those who are skeptical. It is not up to us to prove every UFO sighting ever claimed is a balloon or a plane (or Venus, or a club's spotlights shining on clouds, or a sundog, or a meteor, or a hallucination, or the ISS, etc.), it's up to you to provide proof any of them is real. And it would take only a single one to prove us wrong.
You've brought up tons of images and videos you claim are evidence of extra-terrestrial intelligences visiting Earth or elsewhere in our solar system, and all of them have been extremely easy to explain by mundane phenomena. You have shown that you do not perform critical research of your arguments before making them, and you do not reconsider your world view in light of contrary evidence. You have shown that you don't hold your beliefs because you have compelling evidence to support them. You hold those beliefs because you want to.

I'd like for you to make a short summary of the things you have learned so far through this discussion. You have posted a lot of questions. You have received a lot of answers. I want to see you do this before you make any new posts or requests. Prove to us that our effort in engaging with you is not being wasted.

| Very well then, enjoy your week off. I made it extremely clear how two-way rational discussion works, and you still refuse to answer a lot of questions or show that you learn anything from people's responses to you. You were warned about this, and you will not be allowed to continue with that behavior anymore.

I'm assuming this guy's a complete gullible, and, possibly, we have a conspiracy theorist here, in the forum, who takes everything about "aliens existing" seriously.

It's not about taking it seriously, it's about reasoning with your own head. The problem is our brain. If someone tells you that someone else is lying, you unconsciously get convinced by it, because we tends to be mistrustful, but how can you be sure that "A" didn't lied about the fact that "B" is lying? It's equally possible that "B" didn't lied but "A" did.
For this reason you have to take every information and reason about it. If you take it as true, just because it says that the other ones are lying, you're on the wrong way. If you believe that aliens exists... it's just fine, but only if you've carefully reasoned about it. I'm pretty agnostic about this topic, since I have no proof for one hypothesis nor the other.
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

| Yeah, I imagine he does hold this view very seriously, and I am completely genuine when I say it's okay for him to talk about it. It's welcome in this thread and it makes for interesting discussions. But his problem is that he still thinks its okay to demand that we answer loads upon loads of questions and "prove things" for him, and then go on and refuse to even acknowledge those answers and explanations and then demand answers to more questions.
That's not discussion. That's internet trolling, whether he does it intentionally or not. He has to show that he puts some reasonable effort into reading and thinking about the responses given to him, whether he accepts those responses or not.

| A waste of time, then, as he said clearly. And the learning thing it works in both ways, as we figure out how someone is reasoning. It's a pleasure, anyway, that the tone of the discussion always is plain. I specially enjoy the "disprove the interwebz" part. It's way easier let others do the thinking thing for you, so cozy. Steeljaw354, if you're trolling you're a king.
The thing is, the meaning of "prove" in your posts is far like a million miles away from the scientific meaning usually intended in this forum. I's not that they say to you what to do or to say. You're "talking alien". For a translation there's a need for common ground. But you're not interested, and you signaled with many little things that most of all you don't care. so you know you could be ignored, specially if you state the obvious, right?
Edit: Sorry I see you're off.
I beg to say that I think the discussion was stalling, not heating, but he didn't offend anyone, safe common sense. I'm afraid I fail to see how he didn't follow forum rules in this particular matter. Unless you're referring to previous generic netiquette violations, I see. See you soon.
