(Oh gosh, if this thread belongs in the Video Game Discussion thread, will a moderator please move it? I'm sorry.)

I found this game a few days ago on Steam as an Early Access game, and I'm absolutely blown away with it. Even though it's not finished yet, what's there is a ton of fun. The best way I can describe it is FTL meets Guns of Icarus.

Pulsar: Lost Colony Check out the trailer video!

Here's the Steam page as well.

And here is a YouTube video of some representative gameplay.

Understand this game is nowhere as beautiful as Space Engine. (It's being made by essentially two people in Unity.) But what it does have is really a excellent co-op multiplayer-crewed starship where you fly missions and fight space battles. You *can* play solo with bots, but it's tricky, and nowhere near as fun as playing with friends in conjunction with TeamSpeak or Mumble or Skype.

I've wanted a game like this since forever. It's really a blast, the closest thing I've found to a co-op Star Trek game with different classes working together to fly and fight and explore. I figured my fellow Space Engine enthusiasts might want to know about it.

If there's enough interest I could write some tips for new players, but this tips video is helpful.
