This thread is for posting awesome, fun, boring, bad, lame etc, things you did on any day that is today. Not last year, not last week, not yesterday... Today! However background information can be supplied if it is needed. If you feel it is significant or insignificant enough for others to hear the news, then post it here! It doesn't have to be something out of a movie it can be something you found was different than an average [Insert name here] day, something interesting that happened, or even just a plain old what you did today. The purpose of this thread is to give people an idea of the things you do or don't do, and to entertain them as well with crazy, awesome, sad, normal etc, stories. Sometimes you just need to tell people "What you did today". Hopefully the mods allow this thread.

I'll start off seeming as I had an awesome day myself today. I'll spoiler tag my story to separate it from the thread introduction as it is something optional which you may or may not want to read.

Uhm, ok. Since I'm a bit older than most here, my day was different. Kids aged 2, 6 and 7 set some limitations for what a random Sunday can be. Anyway, the two aged 6 and 7 had enrolled in a cross country competition for today. The arena (Holmenkollen in Oslo) is not far from here, about 1.5 km, so we went on foot and skis and the idea was to pull the 2 year old on a sledge, but she insisted on walking all the way herself pulling the sledge with her plush dog on it. So it took 45 minutes to get there and we got to the start just in time for the first kid. I missed most of the races because after a while at the arena the 2 year old began complaining about getting cold, so I had to go indoor with her. Back home I finished the roast lamb which had become nice and tender in a sous vide water bath by itself while we were gone, and the dinner was pretty good today, if I can say so. It was a relatively relaxing day. The rest of the day was filled with regular homely tasks. If it was a regular Sunday with no competition we would probably have gone skiing anyway and been away for more of the day. And right now the kids are (more or less) in bed, so I can spend some time at the computer.

That's great. Haha she must be pretty strong to pull the dog that far! Are you talking about snow? I've never seen snow before.

What place did the kids come in cross country, I used to do those as a kid.

Yes, snow, I mean cross country skiing. Actually, I don't know what place, haven't checked. For the youngest class they didn't sort the results. Everyone got a medal...

It's been snowing almost non-stop for two weeks now, just a few breaks of a couple of hours now and then. Not much, 5-10cm of very fluffy stuff a day. Well, perhaps 15cm overnight today. It's 6am and I'm off to shovel again...

Oh I thought you meant running cross country haha. What is skiing cross country like.

Wow, all that snow and I've never even seen the stuff. Damn, and you have to shovel the stuff, and at 6am, that is crazy. I don't know if you'd want to, but I want to see a picture of all the snow.

I find it funny how you are in Norway freezing your a** off in the snow, while I'm here in Australia burning my face off in the sun.

Damn, I love them Mountain ranges, I love them! That's some awesome photography, you were lucky to go to Norway on a trip. Is that what snow looks like? Just tiny ice crystals? That's an amazing photo. The fake snow they sell in the shops here is like cold goo, it's nothing like the stuff in your picture! Do you have a DeviantArt account or something for your photos, I would like to see more!

School, like High School? Or College as they call it everywhere except in Australia. Yes, I love coffee too, today I tried tea, coffee and Milo all mixed in one. It was pretty good.

Before going to work today, I shoveled 1 cm thick(hm..) snow near my workplace entrance - a patch 1 meter wide and 2 meters long. It's required by organization routine - so it's my turn today to clear it.

Oh I thought you meant running cross country haha. What is skiing cross country like.

I don't foresee cross country running in January, or crawling through waist deep snow, ever becoming a great sport over here. Skis were invented for a reason. Cross country skiing can be like this (an odd encounter I recently posted here):

I don't know if you'd want to, but I want to see a picture of all the snow.

So just for you, I live here, taken with my phone when I got home today:

University.

Yep. Pretty much.
There are different kinds of snow though. It can be hard, soft, flaky or soggy. It all depends on the temperature and air moisture.

Obviously my personal consumption skewes the numbers.
