Just bought a new much-needed hard drive for my PC, and was planning to use it as my new primary system drive. As luck would have it, though, the drive is defective. Now I'll have to spend even more time and money (money being something I don't have) to get it replaced. Pretty disappointed in Western Digital today.

To add insult to injury, the price of the drive dropped by $10 immediately after I bought it, so not only did I pay for a defective drive, I paid more than I needed to dry

HarbingerDawn, ouch.

I'm building a new computer, and looking for graphics cards. I've found multiple Nvidia Geforce 9400's with 1gb of memory, for like 10€. The bad thing is that shipping costs about 30-40€. sad

Gotta buy a new computer in 3 weeks, finally I can play again SE! cry

Just a question... do you know NVidia GT (or maybe GTX, they may have made a mistake) 650, with 4096 MB of VRam? Is it a good one? I work on videogame developing so I kind of need a powerful GPU smile

Given how relatively inexpensive RAM is (at least last time I checked), there's no reason not to have as much of it as you can get.

When winter comes, max out all of your slots.

PC components tend to be very overpriced in spring, summer, and early fall so upgrading then is something you should avoid unless you desperately need parts or money is of no concern.

Brand - Packard-Bell Multimedia Desktop
CPU - Intel i486, 40 MHz
HDD - Western Digital 15 GB, 280 rpm
RAM - 128 Mb
Case - Some dirty beige one that's gotten covered in grime over the years
OS - Windows 98

Oh wait, that's not right...

CPU - Intel Core i7
Memory - 16 Gb
Storage - 60 Gb SSD & 3 Tb HDD
GPU - Nvidia Geforce GTX 680
CPU Fan - Cooler Master V8, the mother of all CPU fans (traditional ones, anyways)
Case - Some black one by Thermaltake; I chose it because I like simplicity, and it doesn't have a lot windows, lights, or other annoying/unnecessary bells and whistles.
OS - Windows 8.1

Tonight... you.

I never even realized or heard this before. smile Seems like it might have something to do with the holidays around that time of year.

Supply tends to drop a bit due to flooding in spring and summer in a lot of the countries parts are manufactured in.

With the new GTX 970 and 980 I don't really see a reason to buy any other card unless you simply can't afford it.
