Precisely why I didn't much like it. I hate the way the world is, and if a story strongly mirrors reality then I want nothing to do with it, I get enough of reality in real life. I watch shows and read books and play games to escape to a different world, not just more of the same.

That makes sense. In my opinion (I am not going to force it upon you, Borg style), if a series can capture the reality of the world that well while still using a fictional plot, it is very well made show. I guess I just appreciate the writers of the show understanding how the world really is.

Edit:
Harbinger! 3000+ posts! You need to get some exercise. No computer for you young man. nono

In my opinion, it is more impressive if they can create a completely different world, with different culture, peoples and society, while still having it be believable and captivating. Many people can describe how the world is. Not many people can create a truly compelling fictional one.

I wished I remembered firefly, would have been good to have it in the polls as at least 2 people would have voted for it.

HarbingerDawn, I think you just have to accept life for what it is and make the most of it. Like what Mitchel said to Teal'c when Teal'c was trying to reunite the Jaffa, "it's true what they say, politics sucks where ever you go". It is the same with life, it sucks where ever you go, it all depends on your attitude.

Life is full of obstacles which you have to overcome, they are hard but with determination they can be overcome and once you start doing that you will find life fun and meaningful.

I would've voted for X-files over all the rest simply because thats my favorite TV show.

I completely forgot about this show until I was reminded while talking to Harb.

I really liked First Wave, the show always kept you on edge. It is about aliens planning to invade earth and this guy trying to stop them. The Aliens framed him for the murder of his wife so he is avoiding authorities while uncovering alien mysteries.
