| So, I returned the upgrade of Windows 8 I bought because I realized I could install Windows Server 2012 (Datacenter!!!) for free using Dreamspark, which my university provides. Of course, because I couldn't do a direct upgrade I had to re-install a number of different applications, and have a couple more I haven't gotten to. This website was very useful, I might add: http://www.win2012workstation.com/
The level of control I have is... well, awesome, compared to a normal Windows OS. Good luck now, hackers and intruders!
EDIT: Wait, does anyone else here use windows server 2012?

| Hahah, that is crazy. I must say I don't think I'd have the guts to do that sort of thing -- I imagine going into a nose-dive with leg-crunching results.

| Conspiracy to eliminate conspiracies about the moon landings (don't try this at home) Step one: Create a fake convention for Apollo conspiracy theorists. Step two: build a slightly larger version of the Saturn V- lets call it the Saturn VI- to accommodate the increase in weight from extra passengers. Step three: Spread an odorless invisible drug through the convention hall. Stuff them all into the ship when they are sleeping. Step four: Make sure they have enough food for the trip, and launch the rocket. Wait three days or so for the autopilot to do it's thing. Step five: Congratulations! You've showed that they are totally wrong! Unfortunately, you forgot to give them space suits, so they'll only get a brief glimpse of the lunar landscape before the decompression. The good news is nobody will hear them scream
Also,

| Wait, you mean you actually believe America landed on the moon? Psshhhhhhaahahahaha
If the moon landings were real, why is the sky in those photos black and starless? You can't explain that! And those retro-reflectors! We didn't have technology like that in the 60s! Do you really think we put them there? Come on, the moon landing is obviously just a hoax designed to hide the fact that the moon is actually an alien military base. THINK ABOUT IT.
Don't even get me started on Nibiru.

| Yeah, it's a sad road marker.
It's been said for a while now that we need to keep global temperature rise under 2 degrees C if we are to avoid the worst effects of climate change. Yet we've been finding that 2 degrees was actually too generous -- the impacts are happening sooner. And the feasibility of staying under 2 degrees fades with each passing year. In fact, I don't see any realistic scenario where we can still achieve it.
If we keep procrastinating like this, we'll be facing not 2, but 4 degrees of warming, or even more, by the end of the century. A 4+ degree warmer world is not a fun thing to contemplate. I seriously hope humanity can get its act together in time and avoid such an outcome.

I love Don Hertzfeld. I love that video, too. The first time I saw it, I had no idea what was going to happen, but knew it would be absolutely insane and crazy, and so I just kept watching. My prediction was correct. I can't stop watching this video now- it's... amazing.
What's the sound effect that he's using as the stitch is pulled out?
