| I'm thinking of doing a live stream when .97 releases, so you all can watch me be amazed and confused by whatever is found.

| Star Trek: Just another revenge movie Into Darkness is coming out soon. I really, really wanted to think that they would do something a little less action packed- perhaps some really cool adventure story- the kind of stuff star trek is really known for. I was a fool.
It still looks like a good action movie- but... it's too bad, really. It also makes me want to fly around the new enterprise in SE.

"Posidonius holds that the height in which mists and winds and clouds reach is not less than 7400 meters from the earth, and that from that point the air is clear and liquid and perfectly luminous, but that the distance between the cloudy air and the moon is 370,000 km". (historia nātūrālis, II.85)
When I read things like that, I can't help thinking that if they knew that 2100 years ago, why didn't the industrial revolution happen in the second century AD, and why didn't we land a man on the moon in 469 AD instead. But mistakes in politics halted scientific development and rather than exploring space, they let people like Scandinavians and Huns "exploring" their wealth and political failure.

| Quote (midtskogen) why didn't we land a man on the moon in 469 AD instead Rocket science requires more than knowledge of such distances. You need to consider all the advances in math and technology that were specifically realized by the Apollo program. All this would have to be discovered before a moon landing is possible, and would require more than an industrial revolution... I guess that's all pretty obvious anyway. On a side note, I'm quite happy with the development of very powerful computers. A civilization could conceivably become highly advanced without them (but they would be missing out) and I'm happy we ended up with them.
Mars and Venus: the Greeks and Romans had it backwards. The second planet from the sun should be the god of war and the fourth should be the god of beauty. This would more accurately reflect the actual climates of the planets (remember that dust storms on Mars are nothing compared to the nightmare on Venus).
Quote (DoctorOfSpace) You will be able to soon You mentioned that there were problems with it since SE doesn't support multiple textures so I assumed you had stopped work on that.
Also, your avatar (as of this post, you stupid future archeologists from 2500 AD who are looking at an archived version of this webpage! I know you're reading this...)- well, um, I... I just don't understand it. Maybe that's a good thing?
EDIT: What on Earth were they thinking?????? EDIT: This will make you cringe... especially the bad rapping... oh dear god...
