| Quote (ZIHAMMER1411) DoctorOfSpace, I will try. You don't need to, I already tried it on the people I keep in the freezer.Added (30.03.2013, 06:48) --------------------------------------------- Don't you just hate how everyone thinks space is full of dust and objects in close proximity? My art teacher is having us draw a space scene and she requires at least 8 objects in the scene and wants parts of galaxies to be hidden by planets and other parts to be in front of them. Why must people be so ignorant? Why? WHY!? <rant>

Wait... in front? So she's saying we have big dust spirals orbiting the Sun, constantly near missing planets. Logical.

| Or maybe it's artistic license and it's not supposed to be realistic. I still disagree with those requirements, but an art piece featuring those characteristics would not automatically be absurd.
Facebook has been extra entertaining lately

| Quote (HarbingerDawn) Facebook has been extra entertaining lately I can't imagine her reaction to that.
I feel like I just can't take social networking seriously when it's being exploited by large companies and organizations in an endless competition for likes, and then there's the advertising, and facebook itself is a big company. Sure, there are a lot of good things that have been made possible from social networks, like those uprisings in the Middle east against corrupt governments, and it's used legitimately by lots of people for a plethora of uses. ...and before anyone says otherwise, forums aren't really in the same category of social networking then something like facebook. Forums are about discussions, which can be very lengthy and full of detail, where social networks like facebook (or, perhaps the best example is twitter) are really about shorter discussions.
On a forum I can take time to refine my paragraphs so that each post is the best possible expression of my thoughts/opinions/analysis of a subject, like, art, science, the ongoing development of astronomy programs, literature, and, last but not least, pictures of facebook conversations regarding stupid inconsiderate intolerant mean-spirited questions being answered in the form of photographs of National Socialists marching in uniform. So, now that the last example has completely gone against some of my points for the sole purpose of comic relief, I can stop writing this.
Okay, I lied, there's still this third paragraph. See, I thought I had more I wanted to say until I reached the end of the second paragraph. I suppose a desire to be spontaneous and funny brought on the urge to continue writing, even though by now I'm not really saying anything other than a mere reference to my most recent actions/typed words. I really should stop writing this immediately, but to make this paragraph look like something substantial to people before they actually get to read it (considering they probably wouldn't if they had known what it actually contained, and then it would be a waste of the time I spent typing) I'm going to end it with some pointless filler involving my rationale for writing this, and maybe some more self-referencing text just to confuse the already boggled person further for good measure, even though I doubt this will be that confusing. Okay, now I'm done, for real this time.

| Quote (Aerospacefag) HarbingerDawn, again, I don't see anything funny in that thing. This is very sad indeed. Aerospacefag, I did not make that image... and it has a message, which is that if you oppose marriage equality then you are like the Nazis. And it is funny, because that girl was looking to oppose that position, and that other person responded with that image which was fitting in the context, and which strikingly and definitively opposed her position and defeated it, and the fact that he did that and the way that he did it is what makes it funny. But no one is asking you to find it funny, and I personally find a lot of the things that other people post as jokes to not be funny. But it's not my place to judge to everyone else what I think of their taste in entertainment, even though I do end up doing it anyway sometimes. Likewise, you really don't need to criticize everything I post. You can if you want, but keep in mind that I will start doing the same to you...

| HarbingerDawn, it is not necessary to take it to heart, because I was generally addressing to the situation, not your sense of humor. Contrary to the symbolism of a situation, there's more than two pints of view, which especially noticeable if both of them are amoral. That's why I'm not very attracted to "social" nets and prefer to stay on anonymity side.
By the way, this situation you posted is very symptomatic - some columnists from my country noticed that this situation is probably not a coincidence - by the time people will get "fed up" with all this "tolerance", "liberalism" and "ethnic minority rights", it will be easier to revert to the fascism, ignoring all other available options. Not because it is most obvious or favorable choice, but because "public opinion" was organized so by current corporative media.
