I wonder how common those worlds would be. I remember reading the Algebraist, that featured a planet made entirely out of water.
In my opinion such worlds would be nearly impossible when you think of the way planets are formed.

A planet made entirely out of water would never happen, of course, you're obviously going to have other elements and compounds getting involved somewhere. But worlds completely covered with water and made primarily of water are probably not too uncommon; in fact we already think that we may have discovered at least one world (GJ 1214 b) made almost entirely out of water, perhaps 75% by mass.

Damn these feets and pounds... Why not using metric system!
Europa is an ocean world. Ganymede. Callisto and Titan is even more so, they are made by 50% of water. Uranus and Neptune are also supposed to be made of 50-70% of water + ammonia + methane. So somewhere in the galaxy must be an Earth-sized planet made of 50-70% of water. Actually, such planets must be VERY common - even our Solar system has 5 huge worlds made of water. If an ice planet migrated close enough to its star, or the star became a red giant, it would have a liquid water surface and atmosphere made by wapor.
