Might be just my own view but biological systems seem like a bad idea for a probe.

Even if you do something like what Genomic SETI is looking for you run a huge risk of your message being corrupted. It is also highly inefficient and takes millions or billions of years, if ever, to evolve an intelligent species capable of making more probes.

It is highly unlikely we are anyone's creation.

Don't have a link but it was some animation or video that was cut and edited from Cosmos. Simply took a few frames from before he points, duplicated, and reversed them.

Maybe we are the probes. Sufficiently advanced self-replicating machines could be indistinguishable from life.

Very patient aliens, then.

The probes could easily seed planets with primitive life, though. So if such probes have been made, life could be very common in the galaxy.

Was mostly being facetious. smile While the mechanisms of abiogenesis are still not completely understood, I think we understand enough of it to be pretty sure that life here arose by natural processes. Or maybe was seeded elsewhere through panspermia if you're into that idea.

midtskogen, does anyone noticed it? Usually these kind of things are always discussed in the comments section. cool

The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.

Can't see any comments about it in that section.

Nice video, anyway. A kind of 1984 look to it, or a 30's sci-fi. Seems to be student work.

Not really, but it's an interesting thought whether it would be noticeable in the geological record if somebody "aided" evolution a bit along the way, for instance caused the Cambrian explosion.
