I'm not sure I want to buy this game anymore, unless you can shoot/kill the animals

| My starting planet was barren and my performance has been horrible. I really hope they fix NMS soon cause it is a broken mess.

| IMO everything is lacking about the game. Planets feel repetitive, every region of the galaxy is the same thing with a different colour, making exploration unrewarding and boring very quickly. Combat is terrible, especially with the unresponsive controls on PC. Trading is totally simplistic and there's no point to "being a trader" when it is magnitudes quicker to just mine minerals and sell them at a nearby station than to haul cargo to different galaxies. The whole gameplay loop is basically visit planet->mine stuff->go to next planet, where planets are mostly pallet swaps and mining is just firing your laser at rocks.
And let's not even start with the PC FPS issues and the snake-oil salesman dev.

I played the game for over 45 hours and now it corrupted my save so I have to restart. I can't recommend the game at all, from performance issues to now forcing restarts and developer lying about content it is a waste of time and money.

| I think NMS will long stand as a prime example of how not to do procedural generation, how not to handle hype, and how not give your user-base false or unclear expectations. Very glad I waited to see reviews and LPs before deciding whether to buy.
Also, spikes of Plutonium sticking out of the ground? Wat. Black holes orbiting planets? Wat? Press-and-hold to do everything in the UI?

For gameplay that was to make fuel readily available, but in a game centered around exploration they could have at least put plutonium in caves.

Horrible console nonsense. Luckily mods are happening now and that was one of the first things "fixed"

Not really since I know it's not trying or selling itself as being realistic, but I do find it funny. What does get me though are some of the game-play design and UI choices.

I get that, but why have them right next to a planet instead of in deeper space? Everything always seems so close that it feels odd for a game about vast space exploration.
Maybe it's an engine limitation.

| The goal is to get to the center of the galaxy/universe and you fly into black holes which takes you a good 1000 to 2000Ly closer.
The "story" isn't even really a story anyway, so the game is quite shallow.
