| Yesterday I continued my experiments with physics. It is a separate project, it is not integrated into SE. This easily handles 1000 cubes or more complex shapes in a single map (do you remember this picture's location below? ) I had a lot of fun with it yesterday - dropping cubes, balls, ropes and even rag-dolls across the map, shooting them with rockets and grenades and collecting them together with the gravity gun. The gravity gun ("Gravizapa") is a point in front of the player that attracts all objects like a black hole would do (even grenades and particles from explosions are attracted too), it forces them to orbit it like planets orbit the Sun. However, collecting all objects with Gravizapa is not easy, when you move abruptly, they tend to go into a hyperbolic orbit and fly off. So it looks like some funny little game, with objectives (collect all cubes together) and with obstacles - where you can scatter the collected cubes by abrupt movements, they may stick to holes and to the backstreet, toggling the gravity affects all cubes on the map, depending on the distance etc. Imagine a map with a complex geometry and one big box, where you could collect all the Magic Shining Cubes scattered throughout the map. The map maybe so designed to getting the few last cubes from some sump somewhere, and may scatter all the other uncollected cubes elsewhere. It's a puzzle of sorts. Some angry robot turrets may walk across the map and start shooting your clusters of collected cubes with rockets, and scatter them all around. There may be a lot of other game-play possibilities here with this too.
So, maybe I finish this project and release it as a separate small game, what do you think?

| Counter-Strike's de_dust I suppose this is future par of SE engine, but separately devloped for practical reasons? Great job anyway! Small game-like release is good idea, you can attract more people and gain good debug feedback. But, I also think embbeding basic physics in SE as soon as possible shuld be good move. One thing I have pariculary in mind for some time is that gravity attracts camera movment in planetarium mode. Could be good visualisation of gravity interaction and bended space.
