| Ah I went for JPG the second time to make it easier on the loading times, been doing a lot of web development recently so it's sort of stuck in my head.
High contrast versions look good, think it may be time to consider colours and if we're gonna be using gradients, patterns, glow effects etc.
That said, suggestions on the design are still welcome (Or even entirely new designs, might be an idea to have a few available to choose from).

Well with this type of graphic PNG will be just as fast if not faster than JPG.

I've been thinking about that as well. Haven't tried messing with it much yet though.

This may be a bit too complex for the logo, but I like this idea and think I may be able to do more with it (tomorrow (EDIT 3: Well, apparently not tomorrow)).
EDIT: It's a galaxy shape, and the idea is that a grid represents simulation... it needs work, but the idea is good (I think).
Edit #2 I realize it's "S" shaped- I only realized it after I created the shape, and figured it doesn't do the logo any harm.

| Okay, so.... I made a few changes. How about this?
It's much simpler- we don't even need the grid. It's a galaxy (barred spiral).
When we think of outer space, most of us think of a black sky full of stars. The shape of a galaxy represents the fact that SE is a much closer look at the night sky than you will ever get in an observatory.
Detailed decorative images can incorporate grid designs or other complex imagery within the logo.
