| This is the first MOD for 0.96, a pack with 4 new nebula models. Note that it will ADD models, not substitute the original ones, which can still be found.
Diffuse 3
Diffuse 4
Planetary nebula 3
Supernova Remnant 3
Extract textures.rar to data/textures/nebula folder and put Models.cfg in data/models/nebula folder. Don´t forget to backup original models.cfg in case anything goes wrong or if you don´t like the result.
Delete the cache folder before starting SE.

| Sweet job man! I'll use it once I get SE on my better PC.
Q: Any tutorials on how exactly you make the models?

| Rodrigo, what if I include these models to the 0.9.6.2 patch? Which nebulae are sources for these models? Diff3 is a M16 (Eagle nebula), SNR3 is a M1 (Crab nebula), and that is Plan3? I think it is good idea to assign these models for these catalog nebulae.

| Your scripts have a mistake - unwanted "}"
Can you send me original tga textures? I want to remake Planetary nebula 3 model with cylindrical method.
EDIT: Nevermind, I add console commands to convert images to tga and png. Tested "Cylindrical" method, the result is not good.

| I´ll be glad to! Here are the tga files. Plan3 was based on the Hourglass Nebula.The Diff4 model was an artwork based on a image Solaris sent me Do you want the accretion model too, in case you need to use it later?

Here is a "indev" version of the Homunculus nebula I'm working on. It is not perfect, but I will update it when I'll came to a better result. To install, follow the instruction :
♦ 1 ) In data/catalogs/nebulae/nebulae_MilkyWay.sc, add the following code :
Code Nebula "Homunculus Nebula/Eta Carinae Nebula" { Galaxy "Milky Way" Type "Diffuse" Model "EtaCarinae" RA 10.751 41 03.591 Dec -59.6845 41 04.26 Dist 2376 Radius 0.245 AppMagn 15.0 }
♦ 2 ) In data/models/nebulae/Modela.cfg, add the following code :
Code NebulaModel "EtaCarinae" { Method "CubeMap" Position (0, 0, 0) Radius (1, 1, 1) BBoxRes (16, 16, 16)
Group "EtaCarinae"
SpriteObliquityZ 1.0
useFBO 1 // 1 = true floatLOD 0 // 0 = false LODbase 50
CubePosXImage "EtaCarinae_posx.*" CubePosYImage "EtaCarinae_posz.*" CubePosZImage "EtaCarinae_posz.*"
emParticleColor (0.2, 0.0, 0.0) absParticleColor (0.5, 0.25, 0.15)
emDetailR 0.5 emDetailZ 0.5 absDetailR 0.5 absDetailZ 0.5
emParticleDispR 0.5 emParticleDispZ 0.5 absParticleDispR 0.5 absParticleDispZ 0.5
emParticleSizeCenter 2.0 emParticleSizeEdge 2.0 absParticleSizeCenter 3.0 absParticleSizeEdge 1.0
emParticleMinBrightCenter 0.1 emParticleMinBrightEdge 0.1 absParticleMinBrightCenter 1.0 absParticleMinBrightEdge 0.0
emParticleBrightnessCenter 0.2 emParticleBrightnessEdge 0.2 absParticleBrightnessCenter 12.0 absParticleBrightnessEdge 0.0
// this parameters automatically updates by SpaceEngine clipRadius 1.69871 sumColor (-1.#IND, -1.#IND, -1.#IND) sumBright -1.#IND maxBright 11.8712 }
♦ 3 ) Extract the attachment and put the two images in data/textures/nebulae
♦ 4 ) Look at your right hand (this is not a necessary step, but if I were you, I'd do it, we're not enough prudent).
♦ 5 ) Delete the "cache" folder.
♦ 6 ) Enjoy !
Want some music of mine ? Please go here !
