New Map of Titan

I wanted to show my latest work, a realistic map of Titan, but with some of my personal touch to make it more beautiful to the eye.

I started from last map in infrared released by the Cassini team and I replaced the data with those of the poles of the radar, to have a better resolution of the coasts of the seas!

Polar Projection:

I hope that this texture can be used in the official version, it is really very detailed!

Nice work Spock1108!
You made several mistakes. First, you didn't specified correct tile resolution in the script. times are 130 * 130, but in scripts they are 258*258:

Code

  DiffTileSize    258
  DiffTileBorder  1

  BumpTileSize    258
  BumpTileBorder  1

Why did you used 130? Good value is 258. Can you reprocess the original raw textures?

Second, if you making a mod, why not call it with your name? Replacing default files is bad practice. Call folders "Bump-fake-Spock" and "Surface-Spock" and don't forgot to make corresponding changes in the script.

Third, why not using pak files? This is easy: just compress Bump-fake-Spock and Surface-Spock with any zip archiver (set compression mode "none" or "store") and rename them from .zip to .pak (more about pak files here)

Fourth, elevation map have some strange shift on adjacent tiles:

Did you made some post-processing after using CubeMap?

Also, your maps have only "2k" effective resolution (ie original cylindrical texture is 2048 * 1024), while default SE maps are 8k (8192 * 4096). I may send you my original maps, so you could patch them with radar data to obtain new 8k maps.

I answer the questions in order as you have placed:

1) The resolution was my careless mistake that will correct as soon as possible;
2) Sorry for the name, I correct that too; sad
3) This form of loading the Mod is now easier, I do not think that in the near future may use other platforms ... but I can zipping all after adjusting problems you told me;
4) I have not touched anything after using cubemap ... really strange! surprised

I used the "2k" because maps "RAW" NASA had up to that resolution and did not want to enlarge them too.

It seems you did a great work, but the resolution and the code were a problem for you.

This is the cassini imaging central laboratory url with the Titan last map (Jun 2015)

http://www.ciclops.org/view/8212/Map-of-Titan---June-2015

with an original resolution 4k (double resolution), there is various formats for it in jpg, png and tiff. With almost none quality lose, png format seems your better option. There is also some polar projections but I don't know how to process them wacko . Also as SpaceEngineer said your better option for the tiles is 256 or 512 in cubemap.

Great! The next version will be at a much higher resolution! It will take a while ... but it will be many times better!

Spock1108, Here the 8k Titan map used in SE. Bump map is simply grayscaled version of this map.
