| Quote JackDole ( ) There is a thread where comments and scripts can be posted for incorrect star data: COMMUNITY ADDON - Catalog Fixes for SE
There is no reason to create a separate thread for each incorrect star. Oops, didn't see that. Mind moving this post to that thread?

By the way, the specification in the English Wikipedia about the mass of the star may be incorrect. The German Wikipedia has about 150 solar masses, the Italian Wikipedia 80 - 150. The Spanish Wikipedia also has 150, the Russian Wikipedia 120 - 150.
(It would, of course, be possible that it is only correct in the English Wikipedia.)
I have made a modified script for the Pistol star. The spectral type 'LBV', as specified in WIkipedia, does not exist in Space Engine. I have therefore used 'B' for 'blue'. One of the Wolf-Rayet classes might also go.
Code // -*- coding: utf-8 -*- // Name: PistolStar.sc // JackDole 2016.10.30 19:42:17
//------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Star "Pistol Star/V4647 Sgr" { RA 17 46 15.3 Dec -28 50 04 Dist 7770 Class "B" //"M1 Ia" // LBV ???? MassSol 150 RadSol 306 //345000000 //AppMagn 20 Lum 1600000 Teff 11800 FeH 0.1 Age 0.004 }
//------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The script belongs in 'addons\catalogs\stars'
The screenshot is from SE 0.973.

Done.
Quote arbelrocks ( ) According to Wikipedia: (for lack of a better source)
You can check the citations to find the primary sources -- there appear to be several reliable publications being referenced.

Same idea -- check the citations.

Would make it appear as luminous blue supergiant. In real sky, though, it's nearly invisible behind its nebula, and without it in SE is showing off a bit.

| U Geminorum has the BD catalog number wrongly formatted, BD +22°1807.
This pak is meant to correct the issue. Place it under SpaceEngine addons/ folder.

| Ouch! They decided how to classify it without our consent https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/~pberlind/atlas/htmls/note.html

| steeljaw354, you missed the emoticon. SE classification follows international standards, so no.

| steeljaw354, in other words, the place where the the sun is classified calls main-sequence stars "Dwarfs," whereas most international catalogs call it a "main-sequence star" which causes a bit of conflict

| Just finished adding in the Tarantula Nebula.
Code Nebula "Tarantula Nebula/NGC 2070/Doradus Nebula/30 Doradus" { Galaxy "LMC" Type "Diffuse" RA 05 38 38 Dec -69 05.7 Dist 50000 AppMagn 8 Radius 90 }
Put this code in Space Engine > addons > catalogs > nebulae > nebulae.sc (if you don't have it, create it).
