| Quote Fireinthehole ( ) But are the colours realistic? Depends on what you mean. They are real, but they would not be discernible to the human eye, similar to Earth's moon which also has a wide range of colors too subtle to see.

| Great! I have just been trying the new B&W map and although it looks great I believe this looks more realistic as it emphasizes more the high metallic composition of Mercury. The black&white map is very detailed but it resembles the moon too much. Also this should be added to the official addons page IMO. Thank You Mr Harb!

Not all planets that are different necessarily have different colors. If you look at an enhanced color image of the Moon, it looks fairly similar to this enhanced color image of Mercury - mostly reddish, with some blue parts.

| Very nicely done. However I dont like Yandex due to the fact that its slow download restrictions gives the download about 8 hrs to complete. do you know when you will be uploading this to a torrent or to another host?

| Quote ZackG ( ) do you know when you will be uploading this to a torrent or to another host? I'm uploading to Google Drive right now, but it still isn't finished. I have extremely slow internet, so it takes many hours to upload things like this, usually most of a day.
UPDATE: Google Drive mirror added.

How is it possible to know what Mercury would look like to the human eye if no human has ever seen it (more than through a telescope)?

| Quote Fireinthehole ( ) How is it possible to know what Mercury would look like to the human eye if no human has ever seen it Because when we image it with spacecraft we know how to relate the images that are taken to how the human eye sees things, so we can tell - at least approximately - how a person would see it.
Here's a link to an approximate natural-color image, which as you can see posses no noticeable color, even though it is a color image. The colors are just too subtle to be easily visible - again, this compares well with Earth's moon. Another example shows the same thing.

| So now I am confused: Which map is the closest to the human eye? This one or the one that is posted in the official addons page? Sorry for the dump question..
