Yeah it's a 52 mb file in that thread, so I'll just post the volcano code I used for that addon.

Code

volcanoMagn 0.25
volcanoFreq 100000
volcanoDensity 1
volcanoOctaves 3
volcanoActivity 1
volcanoFlows 1.075
volcanoRadius 75
volcanoTemp 4000

Specs: Dell Inspiron 5547 (Laptop); 8 gigabytes of RAM; Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz; Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit; Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 4400 (That's all there is :( )

They don't look so good from the ground still and there is no solution to multi-colored lights but I think overall this is an interesting way to pull off cities.

I think I will be adding these to my Star Trek planets.

Yeah, with some shader tweaking, or with a "tin planet" color palette, this might also be a good way to build a procedural Death Star. Or at least something close to it. smile

with some shader tweaking

Best to avoid editing shaders unless forced to do so. I have figured out some interesting tweaks in catalog settings that allows for city density and other interesting effects.

Wow. It's like landmasses have become city blocks.

I saw that the city-lights method I used was used for this mod, so I updated the addon so that it would have multiple colors.

It looks good, but why Pandora doesn´t have life? And why is a cool Terra?

It's an outdated mod. Perhaps someone should update it?

ShiftFocus,
all .sc files for add-ons belong in the folder SpaceEngine\addons, in appropriate subfolders.

The Avatar.sc file of DoctorOfSpace, or the script of SpaceEngineer belongs to the folder SpaceEngine\addons\catalogs\planets.

(But only one of them. not both.)

If this subfolders in 'addons' do not exist, you must create them.

Don't forget to look here.
