| Hi. Here's a flare mod i've made, basing on this photo from the ISS i really liked:
The files have quite high resolution. (8MB in total) The files include flare, and lens_flare textures, which go to the \data\textures\common folder, and lens_flare configuration file which go to the \data\models\engine folder here's the link: http://www.speedyshare.com/BJwVz....are.zip Mirror download
And here are some screenshots:

| Outstanding work astroniki, this is a great flare!
My only comment is about the files themselves. You could have compressed the PNGs, they were an order of magnitude larger than they needed to be. Other than that, I have no criticisms. Great work!

| Quote (HarbingerDawn) My only comment is about the files themselves. You could have compressed the PNGs, they were an order of magnitude larger than they needed to be. Yes, they're large and 16bit. I tried making them smaller, but then the blockyness shows in-game and that breaks the spell for me, when i see pixel edges that shouldn't be visible. Compressing them to 8bits isn't that bad, I'll release a compressed pack late.

Ah you're right, the difference between the 8 and 16 bit versions is pretty large, the way you have it is perfect. And the file size isn't all that big anyway, so it doesn't matter so much. I withdraw my criticism

| Beautiful! The first lens flare mod I'll use.
I occasionally stream at http://www.twitch.tv/magistermystax. Sometimes SE, sometimes other games.

Totally agree! 9.5/10 stars from me (10 is for a perfect human eye lens flare which is basically impossible to create in a 3D game ) Astroniki you have achieved what I was looking for, for months now! Thank you ever so much !

| Quote (anonymousgamer) Challenge accepted lol I admire your dedication
But with the way that SE is currently coded it would be impossible (if you want to try though I encourage you to do so!)

True. I mean, I would love the ability for ghosts to rotate and ghosts that appear when you look directly at a star. But, maybe we'll see that in the future.
