I think it's unanimous we want the ability to walk on surfaces. With the new z-buffer, it's possible. However, no one has made it work yet. So, I discovered a neat trick to fake a walk mode, and it works alright.

What I did was go into the controls, click the "Camera controls" tab, and changed "Move Down" to W. Now when I move forwards I am also being pushed into the ground. It doesn't work that great, but it's fun nevertheless.

Or you could just hold W and F at the same time.

I did it too long ago, but I find it a bit disappointing tongue

If SE could allow a sort of continuous 'Center roll to horizon' function, it would be a lot better, because right now turning left/right the view makes the camera roll...

Unfortunately its a problem of all the 3D programs, because it's very hard to manage directions without having the "up".

The only way to get around the problem is changing the camera system according to the distance with the nearest planet. But... that would be a nightmare to implement wacko

True, but holding them both gets a bit uncomfortable after a while.

Airplane mode fixes that issue. tongue

Set acceleration to about 0.26 feet per second, and move forward to about 3 to 4 feet per second, and push down a little bit, so the downward movement is just enough to keep you on the ground. I use a joystick to control my orientation, since the keys get tedious, and use up battery life on wireless keyboards. smile
