| I am curious to know to what extent planets/stars/galaxies/etc are permanent after discovery. Are procedurally generated celestial bodies permanent once generated? What would cause a reset, and on what length scale does it happen?
Thanks, this simulator is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen!

| They are permanent, in as far that whenever you return there, they will have the exact same features. However, this is not because they're stored in the memory, but because they use the same formula to calculate everything about them every time. The only thing that will change them is when a new version of SE comes out (or you change the files otherwise).
I occasionally stream at http://www.twitch.tv/magistermystax. Sometimes SE, sometimes other games.
