Neutron star coronas ?

Hi.

While looking at the pre-saved "solitary neutron star", I was amazed by the corona animation (at slow speed).

However, when I look for "existing" neutron stars, recorded as PSR-something I found that their coronas are quite ugly, simply constisting in two perpendiculary rotating sprites. Nothing like the first one I spoke about.

Why is that ? Is it supposed to be fixed in the future ?

I just looked at both of them and saw no difference. Can you provide a screenshot?

No, because you won't see much difference with a screenshot. But I'll upload two videos smile
edit : Okay, I figured out why !

The "issue" is that the coronas sprites have two animations : they rotate, and they expand.

When looking at a very fast spinning neutron star, you decreases the time scale, so the rotation is still fast enough, but the expansion is so slow you can't notice it.

It has nothing to do with recorded and "random" neutron stars.
